An age restricted community requires one person who resides in the home to be 55 or older and does not allow anyone under 19 years old to live in the home. Although some condo buildings do not allow pets, the 55+ communities are generally pet friendly. Most communities have some restrictions such as the number of pets or weight limits, but pets are welcome.

Yes. Although some communities are gated, residents own their home and may have guests visit. If there is a pool, guests over 18 years old may go to the pool with you, but the number of guests you may bring is limited depending on the community. Children under the age of 19 years old may visit and sleep over, but they may not move into a 55+ age restricted community. Some communities have a separate remote pool for residents to bring children to swim. If there is no remote pool, hours are usually provided for you to bring the children to swim in the clubhouse pools.

Usually, yes, but a driver’s license and insurance are required. Golf carts are not as common in this area as they are in areas like Florida simply because of our weather. The colder months limit use. A few communities offer 3-car garages which allow space for two cars and a golf cart.
